What We Do

POLYCRISIS.WORLD is a geopolitical risk intelligence platform that monitors, quantifies, and maps systemic risk across multiple active crises. We combine automated event extraction from 100+ news sources with AI-powered analysis to produce real-time risk indicators for countries, regions, and financial instruments with geopolitical exposure.

Our Methodology

Our risk indicators are constructed from observable data — event volumes, scenario probabilities, market correlations, and cross-crisis propagation patterns. We do not speculate or forecast. We measure what is happening now and how it compares to recent baselines. Full methodology details are available on our methodology page.

Data Sources

Event data is extracted from publicly available RSS feeds including NPR, BBC, Al Jazeera, Reuters (via proxies), regional wire services, and specialist conflict monitors. Market data comes from Polygon.io and Yahoo Finance. We do not use paywalled, classified, or proprietary intelligence sources.

AI Usage

We use Claude AI (Anthropic) for three purposes:

• Event extraction — identifying and geolocating events from news articles
• Scenario assessment — evaluating escalation probabilities against current evidence
• Context generation — producing background analysis for country and ticker risk pages

All AI-generated content is clearly marked. Indicator scores are computed algorithmically from data, not generated by AI.

Limitations

• We monitor English-language sources primarily. Non-English media may be underrepresented.
• Our indicators measure observable signals, not ground truth. They can miss events not covered by monitored sources.
• Ticker exposure analysis provides geopolitical context only — it is not investment advice.
• Risk scores reflect data pipeline observations, not expert judgment or classified intelligence.
